==2008== In 2008, the popularity of Buce grew dramatically to allow for a league to occur between the original players of Buce and the newer players. The 2008 Buce League created a rivalry between the Original 8 (and other members of the newly founded Quad Team) and a growing sector of new players who became the Front Team. The 2008 Buce League was the beginning of the popularisation of Buce, and was a milestone in the professionalisation of the sport. The "3 Square Rule" was introduced during this time to create more depth, and this drastically changed the nature of Buce. What was once a back-and-forth game between attackers and defenders now became a multi-layered sport with more positions and teamwork on the field. Because of the introduction of the limit to the length of serves, there now became a strong demand for talented midfielders in teams to co-ordinate attack and defense. This created a more challenging but rewarding game for all players, new and old. In 2008 the Quad Team decisively won the 2008 Buce League against the Front Team, and most of the Quad Team veterans subsequently won the 2008 Buce League Awards. 2008 also was the period where Youwiki became the hub for all Buce related information- essentially adding a metagaming aspect to the sport. At the end of 2008, after 18 months of playing Buce, the first Double Buce was unexpectedly scored by Rick Osman. This marked the creation of the prestigious Double Buce Club, of which only 7 players to this date have become members. The first 4 double buces were scored in 2008, during a one week period of casual games. The week in which these Double Buces were achieved has since been named the Godly Buce Week.
